Moet & Chandon is one of the world's largest champagne producers and a prominent champagne house. The company holds a Royal Warrant to supply champagne to Queen Elizabeth II. Moet & Chandon was established in 1743 by Claude Moet, and today owns more than 1,000 hectares (2,500 acres) of French vineyards, and annually produces approximately 26,000,000 bottles of champagne. Also, in 1973 Moet-Hennessy bought land in Northern California, planted vineyards and designed Domaine Chandon, an architectural and ecological winery that blends into its surroundings and reflects Chandon's legacy of excellence.
